Holland Trailers is a leading manufacturer of trailer to truck couplers in the world known as fifth wheels. Their mission is to strengthen the leadership position in delivery and development of quality engineered innovative components, services, systems and assisting their customers worldwide in cost effective and safe transportation of materials and goods. The company is also involved in manufacturing products like roll-formed metal parts, pintle hooks and kingpins, truck landing gear, RV, bus and truck suspensions and lift gates. The brands of Holland include Holland Binkley rolled metal parts, 3500 Series, Holland Neway suspensions, Holland Simplex fifth wheels and FleetMaster. The group has operations in other countries such as Far East, Mexico, Canada, Europe and manufacturing sites in United States.

Holland Trailers was found in the year 1910, when the company called Safety Release Clevis Co. was formed in Corsica for producing plow hitches. The company began their offerings for including coupling equipments such as trailers and trucks in the year 1920 and the company was moved to Holland, Michigan. In the year 1921, the company’s name was changed to Holland Hitch Company. In 1930, the company went bankrupt and was acquired by other founders called Holland Businessman Henry A. Geerds and co-founder Henry Ketel. The production line of the company was pintle hooks for attaching trailers, plow hitches and heavy duty truck fifth wheels. Post World War II the company enhanced their production, with Holland Hitch opening a new factory in 1942 and unionizing their work force. After the War, company’s focus was shifted from plow hitches to concentrating more on pintle hooks, heavy construction equipments for trucking industries, landing gear and fifth wheels.

Holland Trailers modernized and expanded their facilities and services in 1960 and in 1969; they opened another site in Holland. It also formed a subsidiary company called Holland Hitch Forwarding Company by opening sales office in Germany.
