The 2012 Ram 1500 is pretty unchanged for the model year 2012, with the only exception here being something that will make huge difference as far as the performance feeling of the truck is concerned: The five-speed 545RFE automatic transmission of the truck has been modified so as to give the driver full admittance to all the 6 pre-existing gears.
Now, as many of us know the 545RFE transmission in 2nd gear makes use of two individual sprocket which downshifts or up shifts in a different way depending on accelerate and burden. A lot of the Chrysler technologist that have talked to us have been very careful to name the 545RFE a “multi-gear” gear transmission rather than naming it a 6 speed transmission which gives you access only 5 gears at a time.

With every model year the expectations of the truck buyers soar, while some truck manufacturers manages to keep up with them, some doesn't. The latter is the case with the all new 2012 Toyota Tundra, which although has got some option packages, but still is pretty much unchanged for the model year 2012, with some minor changes here and there.
The 2012 Toyota Tundra will get a fresh stand-alone Chrome Package, which will bring a chrome wear out tip, door handles, 18-in covered steel wheels and side mirrors. But even this package will be offered only with CrewMax and Double Cab.
