KRTS Transportation Specialists & Pearson Dunn Insurance recently threw some support behind decision of Ontario Ministry of Transportation for allowing automatic transmissions as option for the road tests of Class A. KRTS, operates a lot of training facilities all across this province and they said that they welcome this change saying that the trucking companies which they do business along with every day are now requesting that people that we educate, should be educated about automatic transmissions. They also said that they will be answering needs of the customers. This was said by Kim Richardson, who is KRTS president. Truck cancellations hit 2-year high as rebound slows

Heavy-truck orders of North American are now hitting speed bump, and cancellations are jumping to fastest pace in around 2 years as stagnating recovery of economy prompts the fleet owners for scrap purchases or delay. The rate for March shot up at 9% from about 6.1% one month earlier, says the data that was compiled by Bloomberg. The North American shipments of freight fell by around 1.3 percent in the month of March & grew less than one percent for April, says Cass Info Systems Inc.’s Index of Freight Shipment. The buyers are getting squeezed due to slower volumes of cargo, tighter credit & prices of diesel fuel exceeding the levels of year-earlier even along with recent declines. There aren't a lot of drivers which are an automobile that is more around 20 years old and is still on road. But there is Hose 3 with his engine tanker from 1991. However, this thing is now of the past. Fire company in the last week unveiled the new Rosenbauer of 2012. It is engine tanker having plenty of features of safety along with some functions which aren't available on the older trucks. Blake Garrison, who is president at Garrsion Rescue & Fire, said that this truck will hold around water of 1,350 gallons and will pump about 1,500 per minute when it is connected to source of water. Honolulu police are investigating motorcyclist crash which happened around 2 pm on Sunday at Kamehameha Highway in Ohai Street at Wahiawa. Police had said motorcyclist was riding at very high speed rate in south bound direction after which he lost all control and it hit silver Toyota Tacoma. Police had shut down 2 lanes of the traffic while the investigation was going on. The friends of motorcyclist had identified him as Mililani's David Kim. According to them, he was driving along with some other people of Koa Puna club of motorcycle. Manny Newman, his friend said that he was really cool guy with good nature. He was down to earth too. Volvo will raise the European truck output

World number 2 truck maker Volvo will increase the output as the demand is been recovering for Europe where the expectations in 2012 are raised after the first quarter forecasts. Volvo is rival to Daimler - German leader in market and they said that European market will contract around 230,000 units in this year as compared to previous estimates of about 220,000 trucks. For last year, the sales were around 242,400 units. Company says that due to increased intake of orders, they are planning on slight increase of production rates for Europe in second quarter. Shares of Volvo were up by 5.5% for the early trading. Delo truck has concluded Ontario leg of the tour recently @ Performance Equipment at Mississauga, before it set at Quebec where it'll make 7 more stops. Kenworth recently celebrated an important milestone in this week: production & delivery of the 250,000th truck of T800. This company celebrated mark of quarter-million along with special ceremony @ Kenworth plant of assembly @ Renton in Wash. This landmark truck got delivered to the Trican Well Service which is Calgary-based and is 1 of North America's biggest providers in oil & gas services of pumping, along with operations @ Canada, US, Kazakhstan, Russia, Australia & North Africa. Fleet operators & aficionados of equipment recently got a first look up-close @ Autocar Xspotter tractor terminal recently, at customer event which was hosted by the dealer Great Glasvan Dane. Glasvan was having a lot of units on the display and they represent 1st Auto car shunt trucks which built for Ontario market. Long time dealer of shunt trucks, Glasvan had announced deal along with Auto car late in the last year for becoming the 1st Canadian distributor. Auto car comes with storied history as heavy automobile manufacturer, and has been making terminal tractors for only past 4 years.
