2011 GMC Canyon Crew Cab

2011 GMC Canyon Crew Cab

What is new in the 2011 model? In the 2011 model, GMC Canyon has a couple of minor changes, like new Bluetooth connectivity, 6 months of OnStar's Connections and Directions for offered free, and the headrests have a new design. Intro 2011 GMC Canyon is good example of an automobile which all kinds of attributes that the buyers would need but I still find it hard to recommend. The consumers who are shopping in the midsize/compact segment of pick up trucks typically need multiple engine, rugged styling, and choices of body style along with off-road package availability. People who want to tow their equipment of small business' or any weekend toys would need a lot of power for all such requirements. GMC Canyon does offer you all this, but it is still a truck which can not compete with few bigger  [...]

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 – First test

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 – First test

Willow Springs Raceway probably isn't the first place that people think of while testing Jeep limits. 9 turns of road high-speed course is far removed from the famous trails like Hell's Revenge or Rubicon as you will get, but this does not mean that the company famous for go any where automobiles can not go here with some help from the performance brand of Chrysler's. Ralph Gilles, the CEO and president of SRT Chrysler group says that the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is delicious. He is the man behind the 5150-pound 6.4-liter, yuppie-stomper; it will certainly scare the pedestrians and make bros do the high 5 thing. I totally agree that this cheesecake is yummy and are 3 other new SRT automobiles apart from this one. This is a steaming platter thing containing chili fries served in cheese  [...]

2010 Ram HD 2500 Laramie Review

2010 Ram HD 2500 Laramie Review

We get lots of trucks and cars at our place for reviewing and hence there are plenty of sports cars and hot hatches lurking around all the time. A pick up doesn't enjoy the same popularity in our office as some of the other vehicles and I don't really need to tell you why. People prefer driving automobiles that are quicker and are more suited to the canyon roads. I got the 2010 Ram HD 2500 Laramie at my place for testing; it is one of the few automobiles in long term fleet which is willing to do the work at notice of a moment. This pickup will always be keeping itself busy. I first saw the civilized nature of the 2010 Ram HD 2500 Laramie at testing of 2010 Truck of the Year. Ram won there due to impressive refinement and capabilities. As winner of TOTY, it wasily got a spot in my long  [...]

2012 Chevrolet Colorado – Looks Are Deceiving Here

2012 Chevrolet Colorado – Looks Are Deceiving Here

Chevrolet seems to be gearing up for the coming ten years in the trucking world. At least that's what their all new midsize compact truck, the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado suggests. The precursor of Colorado stayed in the market for two decades, and that the reason why despite being incredibly potent, the Colorado gets outshined by its closes contenders in terms of design, efficacy, feature set and overall desirability. Model year 2012 marks the 9th production year for the truck, and that too without a complete redesign. This is the reason why the Colorado still is one of the most reasonably priced compact midsize trucks having the same muscular look that the full-size Chevy pickups have. The 2012 Chevrolet Colorado comes in a wide range of body styles, engine choices and trims. The engine choice  [...]

2012 GMC Canyon – Good Light-Duty Pickup Truck

2012 GMC Canyon – Good Light-Duty Pickup Truck

Generally the customers looking for a midsize or compact pickup truck wants tough styling, multiple body styling and engine choices, and elective four-wheel-drive and off roading packages. The 2012 GMC Canyon from GMC offers all those things, and hence will meet the requirement of a lot of modern consumers. But despite all that we can not recommend this truck whole heartedly, and we have our reasons for that. For starters, we would like to tell that the Canyon doesn’t have that overall refinement and the creature comfort that most of its modern-day rivals have. But the biggest obstacle on Canyons road to fame is the use of subpar material and aging cabin. We're reluctant to scathingly call the GMC Canyon fleet silage, but then the dated and uninspiring interiors of the truck makes almost  [...]

First Look: 2012 Ram 1500

First Look: 2012 Ram 1500

The 2012 Ram 1500 is pretty unchanged for the model year 2012, with the only exception here being something that will make huge difference as far as the performance feeling of the truck is concerned: The five-speed 545RFE automatic transmission of the truck has been modified so as to give the driver full admittance to all the 6 pre-existing gears. Now, as many of us know the 545RFE transmission in 2nd gear makes use of two individual sprocket which downshifts or up shifts in a different way depending on accelerate and burden. A lot of the Chrysler technologist that have talked to us have been very careful to name the 545RFE a “multi-gear” gear transmission rather than naming it a 6 speed transmission which gives you access only 5 gears at a time. But now we think that Ram engineers  [...]

2011 Ford F-150 Lariat: Road Test

2011 Ford F-150 Lariat: Road Test

A pickup truck is not a car. But that's something that not many understands, and hence asks for fuel economy and not about towing ability and load capacity. But now a days, even the people who earns their living of trucks or rather we should say that especially the people who earns their living of the truck have started giving attention to the fuel economy. The simple reason for that is the constantly increasing price of gas ($4/gallon), which is sucks life out of their living. So, how about a pickup that has the power of a brawny V8 engine, but delivers fuel economy of a V6? Too good to be true? No, it is true and the 2011 Ford F-150 Lariat having EcoBoost V6 that we are covering here offers exactly what we said above. The turbocharged engine of the F-150 generates solid output power of  [...]

2011 Dodge Ram 3500 – Heavy-Duty Truck with a Touch of Styling and Luxury

2011 Dodge Ram 3500 – Heavy-Duty Truck with a Touch of Styling and Luxury

If there's one auto segment that is seeing some serious rivalry, it has too be the heavy-duty pickup truck segment. If not that then how will you explain the fierce competition going on between the Detroit's auto manufacturers for the supremacy in the HD (heavy-duty) pickup segment? The only thing that remains to be done by all these truck manufacturers is to show tattoos for their respective models. The best thing about this scenario is that all the three contenders in the competition is enormously popular and able of moving almost everything and anything. The 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 that we are riding today boasts certain features that keeps the truck in the thick of the fight, though probably not sufficient to pound its dreadful foes overall. The complete redesign for the truck last year  [...]
